FRIDGE MAGNET OF THE MONTH - RORSHAK

My refrigerator with magnets hosts so many of the things that I hold dear:  art from my nieces and nephews, concert ticket stubs, post cards from friends, 'greatest hits' from my photographic portfolio, and more--all held in place by fridge magnets.

Fridge magnets for photos have a utilitarian allure. Refrigerator magnets are hardly ever discarded, especially photo magnets that make one's refrigerator, file cabinet, or tool chest, into an art installation!  With that in mind, I'll be designing a series of RORSHAK 'paper doll' magnets for my friends', clients', and subscribers' refrigerators with art that I hope earns its keep for being fascinating, fun, and worth talking about when company takes notice.

Much of my personal work is made of photos created from elaborate miniature sets that take days to conceptualize and build, but exist for a single day, only to retire in a recycle bin.  Made into magnets, a record of my hard work (and the story of its creation) has a chance to be enjoyed by an audience in a personal space, on a daily basis, and potentially for years on end.

Just another nice memory I have with respect to my magnets from magnets.com Many years ago I used to photograph parties and distribute photo magnets to the attendants.  Long before a personal connection was ever forged, artists already had my work hanging on their refrigerators.  The promotional magnets were incredibly useful to increasing my business and making friendly connections :)

Finally, a very special note about my magnets.com experience each time I've had fridge magnets to order. Their customer service has been extremely friendly, accommodating, and personal.  I keep ordering through them because I feel so appreciated as a client.
