National Nutrition Month

Lets be honest, everyone should?care a great deal more about nutrition, exercise and how it affects overall health and well-being. National Nutrition Month is a campaign that promotes the?Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, whose mission is to promote just that.  

Every year, the Academy campaigns to get their message out regarding the importance of nutrition education. Whats this years theme? Savor the Flavor of Eating Right?.

This theme particularly focuses on and encourages taking the time to enjoy wholesome, nutritious food and savor its flavors. To slow down to also appreciate the social experiences food can bring into our lives.? Simply enjoy and savor flavorful, nutritious food.National Nutrition Month is an awareness month which stemmed from a growing interest in the publics wanting to know more about food and its nutritional value! It started as a week long observance but expanded into a month around 1980.Ever heard the saying ?You are what you eat? Well, it couldnt be any more true. Food can make you feel good or bad. Depending on what it is. Think about it for a second and let it sink in.What are you eating and how is it making you feel, physically?  It is important to be aware of your diet. Learn the importance behind making informed food choices and physical activity. Exercising releases endorphins. Combine this with healthy eating patterns.? You get a happier, healthier feeling, more aware YOU.?How, when, why and where we eat is just as important as what we eat.?
